Xeomin is used in patients who have developed resistance to prior neurotoxin formulations. This lack of accessory proteins also significantly decreases the possibility of an allergic reaction to Xeomin. Additionally, Xeomin has lower diffusion, which means it stays more localized and is less likely to spread to an unintended area after injection. Xeomin has a comparable duration to Botox (approximately 3–4 months).
How Neurotoxins Work
Neurotoxins temporarily block nerve signals to targeted facial muscles, preventing them from contracting. This softens existing wrinkles and helps stop new ones from forming, especially in common areas like:
- Forehead lines
- Crow’s feet
